Winco Foods with stores in Federal Way, Vancouver, Kennewick, Kent, Longview, Marysville, Puyallup, Richland, Spokane, Spokane Valley and Vancouver, Washington has issued a recall of all fresh ground beef packed in Styrofoam trays with March 28, 2010 through April 9, 2010 sale dates because of possibility of E-coli contamination.
An independent lab and a state of California lab tested samples of the meat and found that it had been contaminated with the E-coli bacteria. No illness from the bacteria has been reported reports The Seattle Times.
E-coli is a bacterium that can be found in meat products and hamburgers and can cause illness and even death in some people. Symptoms of a foodborne illness usually occur between several hours to a few days after consuming a food. Symptoms can include dehydration, diarrhea, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain and or vomiting.
