Tacoma installs “speed cameras” to enforce speed limit

The Tacoma police department put into operation two speed enforcement cameras early this morning reports Brian Everstine reporting in Tacoma’s The News Tribune.

According to the report, the cameras will be placed:seattle car accident lawyer

  • 2900 East Bay street — called “The Bay Street Curve”
  • Near the intersection of North Orchard and 26th streets near Downing Elementary School.

The city is phasing in the cameras with a two week warning period in which car owners will receive a letter but will not be fined. Starting December 2, any owner of a car photographed speeding will receive a citation which includes a $101 fine.
