The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that Seattle firefighters rescued a construction worker from a trench where he was pinned by 7,000 pounds of dirt. The construction accident occurred at a construction project on 33rd Avenue South and South Oregon street.
Harborview Medical Center for treatment of “non-life threatening injuries.” Firefighters freed the trapped worker by using ladders and an airbag. The man was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation and he was rushed to Harborview; his condition is unknown at this time.
The Washington State Labor and Industry Department will investigate the accident.
