The Seattle Post Intelligencer reports that a Seattle construction worker was injured when a sledgehammer fell 15 feet and hit him in the head. The man was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he was said to be “conscious and alert,” according to Seattle Fire Deputy Chief Jim Fosse.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Virginia Street and Eighth Avenue. The man was working 40 feet below ground at the time of the accident. A construction crane was used to raise the man to waiting medical personnel.
