Seven people who came sickened due to salmonella illness all attended the Sasquatch music festival over the Memorial Day weekend reports Grant County health officials.
Health officials have not determined the source of the bacteria at this time. Salmonella is a foodborne illness which can be transferred between humans and also animals. Salmonella infections, however, usually occur when people consume foods in which the bacteria is in high concentration. It is often found in fowl or other meats that have not been correctly prepared and in raw eggs.
Every year, approximately 142,000 Americans become infected with salmonella and approximately 30 die.
