Motorcyclist injured when he crashes off of I-5 overpass in Seattle

A 49-year-old motorcyclist from Puyallup was taken to Harborview Medical Center after he crashed off of the Michigan Street overpass and onto Interstate 5 around 11am on Saturday. The injured man’s condition is unknown.

The Tacoma News Tribune reports that the motorcycle accident occurred when the man was changing lanes and he lost control, struck a guardrail and was thrown off the bike and into the HOV lane of the I-5 below. The report does not say that the man was struck by any vehicle.

The WSP says the man was wearing a motorcycle helmet and that his accident does not appear to be caused by drugs or alcohol.
