Man survives nail gun accident in which nail is shot through heart

Chris LeBoulch of Lake Cowichan, BC, survived a horrific nail gun accident in which he accidentally shot himself through the heart with a nail gun. Lake Cowichan is a town on Vancouver Island, BC, across the strait of Juan De Fuca from Port Angeles.

According to an article in the Lake Cowichan Gazette by Tyler Clarke, LeBoulch was working on a roof of a new home several months ago, when he accidentally fired the nail.

Luckily, Blake Sprague — who was certified as a “first responder” — was working on the house as well and was quickly able to provide first aide and seek help.

LeBoulch had to undergo heart surgery to repair the damage to his heart but he is now back to work several months later.
