Elma man dies after falling in Lake Nahwatzel while fishing from canoe

The Olympian reports that Thomas Talbott, age 50, of Elma died after falling out of his canoe while fishing in Lake Nahwatzel. Lake Nahwatzel is in Shelton.

Witnesses reported that Talbott was fishing around 9:30am where people heard him yell then saw him fall out of the canoe. Local residents took their boats to where Talbott fell but were unable to find him.

A dive team later found Talbott’s body. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.
