Bad weather causes DOT to extend studded tire removal deadline

Washington’s Department of Transportation (DOT) has extended the deadline to remove studded tires to April 17th.

Weather forecasts continue to predict freezing nighttime temperatures and snow flurries.

The DOT asks drivers in areas with mild temperatures to remove their studded tires now.

After April 17, drivers will be fined $124 for driving with studded tires.
