Sumner woman killed in Highway 410 head-on car accident

KOMO News.com reports that Pamela C. Bone, 56, of Sumner, was killed on Saturday afternoon when the Nissan she was driving crossed the centerline line of Highway 410 near Buckley and she crashed into a Ford pickup truck.

According to the report, the 62-year-old driver of a Ford F520 pickup, a man from Bonney Lake, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

The result of the impact was pretty horrific with the Ford rolling several times before coming to rest.

Head-on car accidents are some of the most deadly collisions because of the high forces involved. Results can be even worse when two vehicles are mismatched such as a truck and a car.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating the accident but they do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved. A medical emergency, distracted driving or speeding may have been factors as the weather was clear.
