4 people lucky to be alive after Amtrak train collides with pickup truck in Tenino

A pickup truck was struck by an Amtrak train that was traveling at speeds of up to 80mph today around 2pm today in Tenino approximately 15 miles southeast of Olympia.

The force of the collision caused the pickup truck to roll onto its side.

Reports said the driver of the Ford F-150 was either stopped on the tracks or was turning around at the time of the collision.

The four people inside the pickup truck were extricated by emergency personnel who took them to the hospital. Their injuries appear not to be life-threatening.
