Des Moines man convicted for preying on vulnerable elderly

Thanh Diep, who preyed on vulnerable and elderly women, faces 14 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday morning.

According to a report in The Seattle Times, Diep pleaded guilty to stealing cash and jewelry from seven different women. He also stole Wonedith Peters’, 86, pet Chihuahua dog which he gave to his girlfriend.

Diep had a history of similar crimes and spent two years in prison in 2000 for residential burglary, second-degree theft and obtaining a signature by deceit.
