Backhoe driver seriously injured in bridge accident

A backhoe operator was seriously injured in a construction accident on a rural Mason county bridge 12 miles west of Shelton around 10am on Thursday morning.

According to a report by Seattle’s KOMO News, the man was injured when the backhoe rolled off a bridge on West Shelton Matlock road.

The backhoe driver was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious leg injuries.
