Portland, Oregon’s TriMet to pay $1.5 million settle settlement

Trimet of Portland, Oregon, has agreed to a $1.5 million settlement to Pat Smith, 68,who was so seriously injured in a bus vs. pedestrian accident that she had to have her leg amputated.

According to a report by Margy Lynch of KATU.com, Smith was seriously injured when she was hit by a bus while in a crosswalk in 2008 in Portland. Smith now has a prosthetic and uses a wheelchair.

According to the report, the bus driver was using an iPod at the time of the pedestrian accident.
