Washington State Patrol changes cell phone rules for troopers

The Washington State Patrol has changed their Regulation Manual and now requires troopers to use hands-free devices if they use cell phones while driving. The change in the Regulation Manual also include prohibiting troopers from texting while driving.

WSP Chief John Batiste said:

“Using a hands-free device is a good idea for everyone, including troopers. Every driver has an obligation to be at their best while behind the wheel.”
