Grandview, Washington woman killed in I-90 car accident when vehicle loses wheel

Donita Kay Sandberg, 63, of Grandview was killed in a rollover car accident on Interstate 90 on Saturday evening when the Chevrolet Suburban she was riding in lost a wheel causing the driver — her husband, David Sandberg — to lose control. The vehicle went off the highway and rolled at least two times.

According to a report in The Spokesman-Review, the pair was traveling eastbound on I-90 near the Geiger interchange when the car accident occurred.

David Sandberg was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center where his injuries were described as “non-critical.” According to the Washington State Patrol, the pair was wearing seat belts.
