Man sentenced to prison in Wenatchee pedestrian accident

Michael D. Burke, 34, of Wenatchee was sentenced to 3-1/2 years prison in the pedestrian accident which killed Arnulfo Garcia Maldonado in September 2009. Burke was found guilty of hit and run injury accident involving death and negligent driving. Prosecutors were not able to charge Burke with Vehicular Homicide because they were not able to prove that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

According to The Wenatchee World, Garcia Maldonado was attempting to cross North Wenatchee Avenue when he was hit by Burke. Garcia Maldonado died two hours later at Central Washington Hospital.
