The Washington State Patrol, in a media release, reports they conducted a driving under the influence (DUI) emphasis patrol in Clark County on March 20,2010.
The Washington Patrol, working with the Clark County Sheriff Office, the Vancouver Police Department, the Battle Ground Police Department, the Camas Police Department and the Washougal Police Department worked together to target drunk drivers.
On March 20, the combined efforts of law enforcement made 12 DUI arrests, 2 minor in possession arrests, a felony drug arrest, 10 misdemeanor drug arrests, 2 felony and 1 misdemeanor warrant arrests and four driving on a suspended or revoked license in Clark County.
Aggressive targeting of drunken drivers no doubt saves lives. In the United States, it is estimated that more than 500,000 injury accidents and 18,000 traffic fatalities are alcohol-related.
