Sheriff’s deputy killed in one-car rollover accident near Ephrata

The Seattle Times reports that Deputy John Bernard, 52, of Moses Lake, who worked for the Grant County sheriff’s office, was killed in a one-car rollover car accident near Ephrata on Sunday evening.

The Washington State Patrol’s major accident investigation team from Seattle is investigating the cause of the motor vehicle accident. According to the report, Bernard was wearing a seat belt and there was no snow or ice on the road at the time of the accident.
