Car accident north of Shelton injures 2

The Olympian reports that two people were injured in a two-car accident near Shelton around 7pm on Friday. Shelton is approximately 22 miles north-west of Olympia, the state capitol.

According to the report Daniel Sanchez-Reyes, age 25, of Shelton, failed to yield as he pulled onto State Route 3 and his car was hit by a Rod pickup truck driven by Zachary D. Hines, age 20, of Grapeview.

Sanchez-Reyes suffered abdominal and possible head injuries in the motor vehicle accident and he was taken to Mason General Hospital. A passenger in the pickup truck, Angela R. Gatica, age 2,4 of Shelton, suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Hines and another passenger, Shelby D. Austin, 17, were not injured.

Sanchez-Reyes will be cited for failure to yield the right of way.
