An unidentified Lakewood, Washington woman has drowned in a tragic boating accident while rafting the North Fork of the Payette River with members of her family reports Seattle’s King5.com Local News.
According to the report, a raft carrying the 47-year-old Washington woman and nine other people had been launched less than 10 minutes before the raft tipped, ejecting three people including the woman. Two of those that were ejected, both teenagers, were found.
The rafters floated along down the river a few hundred yards but could not find the woman. About an hour later, a kayaker found the woman pinned under a log. She apparently had been sucked underneath the log and pinned there.
