The Wenatchee World reports that six semi trucks slid off Highway 97 at Blewett Pass this morning due to winter driving conditions. Northbound traffic lanes were blocked near the summit for some time.
The semi truck accidents did not involve collisions and it is unknown whether there were any injuries.
Highway 97 is part of the National Highway System and it is a rural principal arterial. It carries a T-2 freight designation. Highway 97 provides alternates across Washington’s east-west mountain passes during closures of US-2.
