Highway 101 flagger killed near Brinnon, Washington south of Dosewallips State Park

The Seattle Times reports that a highway flagger was killed when a dump truck backed up on Olympic Highway 101 near Brinnon, Washington South of Dosewallips State Park in a tragic construction accident. Washington State Patrol reports that Lynette Anderson, 49, of Beaver, Washington died around noon at milepost 310, Canal View Street.

State troopers said that the accident occurred Monday afternoon while crews were working on a paving project.

Dump trucks are equipped with a beeper that sounds when a truck is backing up. State Troopers are investigating to determine if safety equipment was malfunctioning at the time of the accident.
