Safe Crossing Week teaches kids about crossing railroad tracks safely
Safe Kids.org launched "Safe Crossing Week" for the week of November 1 through November 7 to teach children about how to be safe around railroad crossings. This year's program is called "Teaching Safety for Life."
Safe Kids "Top Railroad Safety Rules" for parents to teach their children include:
- Railroad tracks are dangerous, don't play around them. Only cross tracks at marked crossings and always look both ways.
- Obey railroad signs and signals, paying attention to warning bells or train whistles.
- Never cross a train track when a train is approaching even if it seems very far away.
- Walk bicycles across tracks.
- Stand at least 10 giant steps away from tracks.
For more information about Railroad Safety, see the Safe Kids web-site.

Pedestrian accidents are definitely a growing problem. As an Iowa injury attorney I have seen too many pedestrians injured by car accidents. If you or a loved one has been injured in a bicycle accident in Washington, hiring Herbert and his firm is an excellent choice. I know Herbert personally and can tell you that they will aggressively represent you.
