East Wenatchee, WA teacher dies in motorcycle accident near Entiat

The Wenatchee World reports that Joshua D. Putnam, 31, of East Wenatchee was killed near Entiat in a motorcycle accident on Friday night. Putnam, who was a kindergarten teacher at Robert E. Lee Elementary School in East Wenatchee, was motorcycle riding with his father on a U.S. Forest Service road when he hit a fallen tree. The tree, which was hidden by a shrub, struck him in the groin area. Putnam had abdominal injuries and it also appeared that he may have suffered cardiac arrest.

Putnam was a highly regarded elementary teacher in his first permanent position.
